Naked Pole Vaulting?

Romain Mesnil, a French pole vaulter, apparently is desperate for money. His Nike contract expired in 2008 and he’s looking for some sponsorship. Apparently as a way to draw attention to himself he decided to video tape himself running naked through the streets of Paris, holding a pole. Entertainment at its finest!

Also gotta love the serene music playing in the background. Classic!

March Madness

I’m 35/48 so far. Not terrible…in fact, based on the brackets I’m looking at, 7th (my current standing) is about the lowest I can go. Considering I haven’t watched ANY NCAA basketball this season, combined with the fact I went with the teams I wanted to win rather than the teams that seemed the most likely candidates, I consider this to be a complete success.

Update: Go UConn!!!

Trampolines

Trampolines are awesome. I went jumping on some yesterday and it was a BLAST. It’s definitely kinda sad that I was barely able to survive one hour of jumping without having a heart attack, but I guess it’s a goal to get better. I am definitely proud of myself that, with some encouragement from Kristina, I was able to successfully attempt a flip. Yay for quasi-acrobatics! lol.

I’m sore as hell today though. I seriously worked some muscles I didn’t realized were involved in jumping – like my way upper back/neck. Who knew that could get sore from trampoline time? Anyway, fun times for sure. Definitely gotta go again!!

Awesomeness

It’s official. I have the greatest set of family and friends I could have ever asked for. This whole strep throat thing has been a huge pain in the ass. My adorable sister kept me entertained during the exam last night, and even volunteered to come over today to watch movies with me despite my contagious state. I only had to say no because I don’t want to expose my niece. My dad has made several trips over here to bring me food or medicine or gatorade or whatever else. My mom has been at my beck and call with expert medical advice (she is a trained professional afterall!), medicine, hugs, moral support, and today woke me up from my nap to bring me a pizza. What’s not to love? Then Mr. Zig came over with In n Out. I didn’t get a burger, but seriously how good does this look:

Not to mention the countless others who have kept me entertained online or sent me wishes for a speedy recovery. You guys all rock. And so do these fries I’m currently eating :)

LPSG

*Disclaimer…the link in this post is probably not safe for work*

Last night while bored, high on vicodin, and just screwing around online, I stumbled upon www.lpsg.org. Yes ladies and gentlemen, an online support group exists for men with large penises. I never would have guessed that such a thing would be needed, much less have such a large membership! Some of the topics are definitely entertaining, like “discrimination” (again, who knew this was a problem?). Anyway, maybe it’s the meds, but I found this site entertaining as hell. Definitely worth a look if you’re bored or interested in the subject matter.

I guess this just goes to show that there truly is a support group out there for everyone.

Colbert Station?

I’m sure you’ve all heard of Colbert Nation. Well, now there might be a Colbert Space Station. That would totally kick ass!

NASA recently had a poll to name their newest space station. They listed 4 choices (Serenity, Legacy, Earthrise, or Venture), plus allowed people to write in their own choices. “Colbert” won by over 40,000 votes. As someone who is very pro-democratic process, I really hope NASA doesn’t back out and name it Serenity. After all, they did choose to include a write-in option.

And let’s face it, how awesome would it be to have a space station named after Stephen Colbert? (Yes, I voted for this option) :)
