New Site

I just moved here from blogspot and thanks to all of Mario’s help I’m having a blast managing this site! It’s amazing all the fun things you can do like mess with colors and change links and whatnot. Who knew I would actually enjoy blogging to begin with, much less learning how to code stuff. Maybe one of these days I’ll sign up for some computer/website design classes. Not soon though. I’ve had enough with school for the next few years ;)

Travel Agent

It’s official – I have the COOLEST boss ever! I had the greatest day at work yesterday… I got to spend much of my time being a travel agent.

First my boss asked me to find him a hotel in Boston on short notice. It had to be 1. reasonably priced 2. close to the airport 3. walking distance from a whole foods market and 4. give him a very late checkout time. Being the expert googler/researcher, I quickly found something suitable. And I was able to get him bonus frequent flyer miles in the process. Awesome. I told him that was fun, and then went back to work on my regular projects.

A little while later, my boss came back into my office. One of the labbies recently eloped. Apparently his wife is doing some performance in New York next week, but this guy can’t afford to go. My boss told me he was sending some other labbies on a detective mission to get all the pertinent information about the performance. Once they were done sleuthing, I was to purchase airfare and hotel accommodations for this guy. In the end, I booked a vacation package for this guy for a 5 day get-away with his new wife, all on my boss’s dollar. What an incredibly generous gesture! It was awesome to be a part of that, and I got paid to do it to boot. I love my job!
