Obsession

I’ve just discovered Scrabble online and I’m 100% addicted. It’s awesome, but someone needs to tear me away from it. I just can’t be wasting hours playing a totally useless game!

Germany or Florida

This is truly a great example of EPIC failure. Courtesy of FailBlog

This brings me to my next point: 9 out of 10 stupid/weird/crazy things you see in the news happens in either Germany or Florida. I used to love when Adam Carolla was on Loveline. He had this game called Germany or Florida. Basically he would share a news story and callers got on the line to guess where the story took place. I miss Adam Carolla’s presence on Loveline, but at least I still have my Germany or Florida :)

Miss Universe Contestant

Stephanie Naumoska competed for the Australian spot in the Miss Universe pageant. Um, I’m all about being in shape and having a small waist, but GEEZ this chick is so skinny. It makes my eyes hurt. And her BMI is 15.1?! That’s unbelievable. Someone needs to evaulate this chick for Anorexia. Seriously. I could go on about this, but I won’t bore you. Something needs to be done to tell the middle school children out there that it’s NOT ok to look like this. /end rant

Cool Beatbox

I’m definitely a fan of Canon in D, and this is a pretty cool version

The Daily Show

Why is it so hard to get tickets to the Daily Show? I’m even down to go see the Colbert Report if all else fails (yes, it’s a good show, but I only have time for 1 and let’s face it, I LOVE Jon Stewart!). However, it seems unlikely I’m going to get tickets to either, which simultaneously angers and depresses me. I’m just trying to have a good time on my trip and see all that New York has to offer. I don’t think that’s asking too much! :(

Know Your Enemy

Green Day just released their first single off their new album, 21st Century Breakdown, which comes out May 15. The single is called Know Your Enemy and even though I’ve only heard it like twice, I’m already in love with it. I’m SUPER excited for the new album!

Farewell John Madden

Yet another loss to the NFL. John Madden just announced his retirement from broadcasting. I grew up listening to this guy and his commentary, and will really miss him. He’s good at what he does, and he provides a great source of entertainment at the same time.

In honor of Mr. Madden, here are some of the greatest things I’ve ever heard him say:

“The team with the most points at the end of the game usually wins”

“You can only make one play at a time”

“The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break”

“Anytime you have a game, you have to be ready to play”

“When you lose your best cornerback and your punt returner, I’d say that’s a double loss”

“Here’s a guy, that when he wears his contacts, he see’s better”

“If the referee throws a flag, and he doesn’t make a mistake, then that’s gonna be a penalty”

“Now see this guy has the biggest kankles I have ever seen”

I’ll miss you John!

Schadenfreude

I learned a new word today: schadenfreude

Basically, someone was driving me nuts earlier, and this person got told. It gave me a brief sense of happiness to see this person get put back in their place! I shared this with Mario, who told me “there’s a word for that. schoddenfrough or something” LOL! Apparently it’s not a made up word.

Thanks for expanding my vocabulary Mario!

Damon vs. Palin

This is an oldie, but it has come up in coversation several times this week so I felt the need to share. I love the authenticity Matt Damon shows in his shocked, appauled, horrified and just astounded words and facial expressions. It’s great.

Enjoy! And let’s follow McCain the next 3.75 years and see if she would have ended up President Palin!
