Farewell John Madden

Yet another loss to the NFL. John Madden just announced his retirement from broadcasting. I grew up listening to this guy and his commentary, and will really miss him. He’s good at what he does, and he provides a great source of entertainment at the same time.

In honor of Mr. Madden, here are some of the greatest things I’ve ever heard him say:

“The team with the most points at the end of the game usually wins”

“You can only make one play at a time”

“The fewer rules a coach has, the fewer rules there are for players to break”

“Anytime you have a game, you have to be ready to play”

“When you lose your best cornerback and your punt returner, I’d say that’s a double loss”

“Here’s a guy, that when he wears his contacts, he see’s better”

“If the referee throws a flag, and he doesn’t make a mistake, then that’s gonna be a penalty”

“Now see this guy has the biggest kankles I have ever seen”

I’ll miss you John!

isn’t john madden the name of the football game?

  2. Caro says:

oh melissa. it’s the name of a video game (madden football). he’s the guy that does the announcing in the game.

o0o i always thought that it was like the something that they added to the game to make it more realistic, like when you’re watching a movie premiere and you have a voice over, but your logic makes more sense than mine!
